BisectHosting Review 2026: Pricing, Refunds, SLA & Locations

Most game server hosts make you pick a game, pay for that game, and start over when your group moves on. BisectHosting is built around the opposite idea: one plan, over 110 games, and the freedom to swap between them. That is a genuinely useful pitch for anyone whose community jumps from Minecraft to Valheim to whatever launches next month.

This BisectHosting review goes through what the company actually commits to in writing, from BisectHosting Minecraft server hosting prices to the refund rules. I read the full Terms of Service, the SLA and the FAQ, pulled every figure from the official pages, and tested the website itself for TLS, security headers and speed. I did not buy a server for this review, so you will not find made-up ping graphs here. What you will find is the part most reviews skip: the exact refund rules, the late-payment timeline, the SLA credit maths, and who BisectHosting suits and who should look elsewhere.

Figures were checked on the official BisectHosting pages in November 2026. Prices on game hosting sites change often, so confirm the final total in the configurator before you pay. If you are comparing cheaper options, read my GravelHost review and the list of the best cheap game server hosting providers.

BisectHosting review: the quick verdict

BisectHosting is a strong choice if you run modded Minecraft or want one plan that covers many games, and you are happy to pay a little more per GB for a mature panel and a written SLA. It is a weaker choice if you want a long refund window, the lowest possible price per GB, or guaranteed backups.

  • Best for: modpack servers, communities that switch games, and owners who want a managed panel with one-click installs.
  • Skip it if: you want a trial, a refund window longer than 3 days, root access or guaranteed vCPU, or the cheapest per-GB price.
  • Standout: the BisectOne plan (110+ games, free swaps) and the 99.97% node-level SLA with a stated credit scheme.
  • Watch out for: best-effort backups and DDoS protection, 3-day refunds, and termination 7 days after a missed payment.

What is BisectHosting?

BisectHosting is a managed game server host. The footer legal entity is Venture Node LLC, and the Terms of Service send disputes to the courts in Ohio, USA, which points to a US base. The company says it has over a decade of experience, and the domain was registered in 2014, which makes it one of the older names in this market rather than a newcomer.

The company’s own figures are 2,000,000+ servers hosted, 21 locations and a 15-minute support response. These are marketing claims, so treat them as claims. Beyond game servers it also sells VPS and web hosting, but neither shows specs or prices on the pages I could read, so this review focuses on game hosting.

How I checked BisectHosting

  • Read the full Terms of Service, SLA and FAQ on bisecthosting.com and noted every number.
  • Pulled the plan, hardware, location, panel and modpack details from the official BisectOne and Minecraft pages.
  • Tested the website over TLS and checked its security headers and response time from my own server.
  • Compared the written policies against my own tested GravelHost review to see where BisectHosting is stricter or looser.

What I did not do: buy a server and run lag tests. Where a fact could not be confirmed from an official page, I say so instead of filling the gap.

BisectHosting pricing: how much does a Minecraft server cost?

BisectHosting sells game servers on a single main plan called BisectOne. You pick the RAM you need, and the same plan works for 110+ games, so a 4GB plan can be a Minecraft server this month and a Valheim server next month at no extra cost. This replaces the older Budget and Premium tier names that some review sites still use.

The rate is simple: $2.99 per GB of RAM per month on monthly billing. Minecraft Java and Bedrock start at $5.99 a month, which is the 2GB entry size. The plans below are the main BisectHosting Minecraft server hosting sizes, with the prices shown on the official plans page in November 2026.

BisectHosting BisectOne plans page showing 4GB, 5GB, 6GB and 8GB prices and billing cycle discounts
BisectOne plans on the official page: $2.99 per GB monthly, with 10%, 15% and 20% off for longer billing cycles.

BisectHosting Minecraft server plans and prices

PlanMonthly priceRecommended playersOther games supported
4GB$11.996 players72
5GB (Top Vanilla Plan)$14.998 players73
6GB$17.9912 players94
8GB (Top Modded Plan)$23.9916 players104

A 10GB plan is $29.99 a month. Notice the last column: bigger plans unlock more games. A 4GB plan supports 72 other games, while an 8GB plan supports 104, because some games need more RAM to run. The 110+ games headline is true, but you may need a larger plan for the heaviest titles.

BisectHosting billing cycle discounts

The discount BisectHosting publishes is for paying longer. The per-GB rate drops as you commit:

Billing cyclePrice per GBDiscount4GB per month8GB per month
Monthly$2.99None$11.99$23.99
Quarterly (3 months)$2.7010% offabout $10.80about $21.60
Semi-annually (6 months)$2.5515% offabout $10.20about $20.40
Annually (12 months)$2.4020% offabout $9.60about $19.20

The 4GB and 8GB columns are calculated from the per-GB rates shown on the plans page. Taxes are added on top, so confirm your total at checkout.

BisectHosting RAM boost

Some plans include a RAM boost. On the Hytale plans, for example, a 4GB plan comes with +2GB of boost for $11.99, a 6GB plan with +2GB for $17.99 and a 12GB plan with +2GB for $35.99. The Terms of Service say temporary RAM boosts can be modified or discontinued at BisectHosting’s discretion, so treat the boost as a bonus rather than guaranteed capacity.

BisectHosting Hytale plans with a RAM boost on 4GB, 6GB and 12GB plans
Hytale plans on BisectOne include a RAM boost on top of the base RAM.

What is included with BisectOne

  • 2 instance slots sharing a 40GB pool, and 2 backup slots sharing a 40GB pool.
  • Daily backups with 3 days of history on the base plan.
  • Free MySQL databases and free subdomains.
  • A browser-based file manager, console and config editor.
  • Optional add-ons: extra instance and backup slots, temporary RAM boosting and premium subdomains.

Use my game server RAM calculator to work out how much RAM you actually need before choosing a plan size.

Hardware and performance

BisectHosting says modern Ryzen CPUs run about 80% of its infrastructure, with clock speeds up to 5.7 GHz, NVMe drives and up to 8 vCores per plan. The vCores are managed for fair usage rather than hard caps. The exact CPU model and RAM type are not published on the pages I read, so I cannot tell you whether a given node is a 5600X or a 9950X.

That matters for Minecraft, which is limited mostly by single-thread speed. High clock speeds help, but without a guaranteed vCPU you are trusting fair-usage management during busy hours. For a normal community server this is fine. For a large modded server that pushes the CPU constantly, test during peak time using the refund window.

Supported games and modpacks

BisectOne covers more than 110 games with free swapping. Featured titles include Minecraft Java, Palworld, Valheim, Hytale, Project Zomboid, Enshrouded and Farming Simulator 25. If you host a specific game, compare dedicated options too, such as my guides to the best Palworld hosting and best Rust server hosting.

For Minecraft, the official page lists over 2,300 modpacks and 8,000+ plugins, with automated one-click modpack installs and manual install options. Which launchers are supported (CurseForge, Modrinth, FTB, Technic) is not stated on the pages I could read, so check this in the panel if you need a specific one.

Control panel: Starbase

BisectHosting uses its own panel called Starbase for games, with separate panels for VPS and web hosting. It gives you a browser file manager, console and config editor, plus the modpack and plugin installers. Some third-party sites describe the panel as Multicraft, but the official pages name Starbase, so I have used that.

Server locations

BisectHosting advertises 21 locations and says you can switch location for free. The site lists locations including Dallas, Los Angeles, London, Sydney, Sao Paulo and Mumbai. The full list of cities was not available on the pages I could read, so confirm your region in the configurator. Pick the location closest to most of your players, because distance sets your baseline ping.

Uptime SLA and credits

This is where BisectHosting is more transparent than many rivals. The SLA promises a minimum of 99.97% uptime per month, measured at the node level, not per game instance. That works out to roughly 13 minutes of allowed downtime in a 30-day month.

SLA termWhat the official page says
Uptime commitment99.97% per month, measured at the node level
CreditOne extra day of service per hour of qualifying downtime
Credit capUp to 30 days per service per incident
Claim deadlineWithin 5 days after the incident ends
ExclusionsUser-caused Docker container issues, emergency maintenance, scheduled maintenance with 24 hours notice, force majeure, external network or utility outages

Because the SLA is measured per node, a problem with your own server container is excluded. You also have to file the claim yourself within 5 days, so keep track of any outage.

DDoS protection and backups

DDoS protection is included, but the SLA states it is best-effort at all locations and that no system can guarantee 100% protection. Attacks beyond mitigation capacity are excluded from downtime calculations. That is honest, but it means you should not treat it as an unconditional guarantee.

Backups are daily with 3 days of history on the base plan, and the Terms of Service say backups are on a best-effort basis and are not guaranteed. One page mentioned 7 days of history, which conflicts with the 3 days elsewhere, so confirm in the panel. For anything valuable, download your own offsite backups regularly.

Customer support

BisectHosting offers 24/7/365 live chat and tickets and claims an average 15-minute response. There is no phone support. I did not open tickets for this review, so I cannot verify the response time myself. As with any host, the real test is how fast support answers when your server is down.

Billing, refunds and cancellation rules

This is the section to read before you pay, because BisectHosting’s rules are stricter than the marketing suggests.

BisectHosting refund and late payment timeline infographic
Refund and late-payment timeline, based on the Terms of Service.
  • Refund window: contact support within 3 days of activation for a full refund. It applies to new customers or first-time service types only.
  • No free trial: there is no trial, so the 3-day refund is your test period.
  • No prorated refunds: unused time is not refunded, and refunds after 3 days are discretionary.
  • Renewal refunds: on request only, a full refund within 1 day of the renewal date, 50% within 3 days, and none after that.
  • Cancellation: cancel within 24 hours or at the end of your billing cycle. Cancelling does not trigger an automatic refund.
  • Prepaid billing: a late service is suspended after 3 days and terminated, with data deleted, after 7 days.
  • Price changes: base-price increases come with at least 30 days notice.
  • Chargebacks: filing one without contacting support first counts as a Terms of Service violation.
  • Non-refundable: domain registrations, add-on and setup services once performed, gift cards, credits and donations.

One wording difference to note: the Terms of Service count the 3 days from activation, while one help-centre snippet counted from the order. If it matters to you, ask support which applies before buying.

Website security and speed check

CheckResult
TLSTLS 1.3, certificate from Google Trust Services
CDNBehind Cloudflare, homepage cached
Homepage responseAbout 0.09 seconds to load from my server
Security headersX-Frame-Options present; HSTS and a Content-Security-Policy were not detected
Domain ageRegistered in 2014

The site is fast and uses modern TLS. Missing HSTS and CSP headers are a minor hardening gap rather than a risk to your server, but a mature host would normally set them.

BisectHosting pros and cons

Pros

  • One plan, 110+ games: swap games for free
  • Strong Minecraft tooling: 2,300+ modpacks, 8,000+ plugins, one-click installs
  • Mature panel: Starbase with file, console and config editors
  • 21 locations: free location switching
  • Written SLA: 99.97% with a stated credit scheme
  • 24/7 support: live chat and tickets

Cons

  • Short refund window: 3 days, first-time customers only
  • Harsh renewal refunds: nothing after 3 days
  • Best-effort backups and DDoS: not guaranteed in the terms
  • Higher per-GB price: $2.99 per GB versus under $1 at the cheapest rivals
  • Game access scales with RAM: a 4GB plan supports 72 other games, an 8GB plan 104

BisectHosting discount: how to pay less

The official BisectHosting pages publish only the billing-cycle discounts: 10% off quarterly, 15% off semi-annually and 20% off annually. I did not find an official coupon code, so be careful with coupon sites that list one. The most reliable way to pay less is to choose a longer billing cycle, and to use the 3-day refund window to test performance first.

BisectHosting vs GravelHost

GravelHost is the obvious cheaper alternative. Here is how the two compare on the points that matter, using the figures from each host’s own pages:

PointBisectHostingGravelHost
Typical Minecraft price$2.99 per GB per monthFrom $1.80 for 2GB, about $0.90 per GB
Plan modelOne BisectOne plan for 110+ gamesPer-game plans, priced mostly by RAM

Uptime SLA99.97% node-level, written creditsSLA published, DDoS on every plan

In short, GravelHost wins on price, and BisectHosting wins on game flexibility, modpack tooling and a clearer SLA. Read the full GravelHost review or use the cheap game server hosting list to compare more options.

BisectHosting FAQ

Is BisectHosting legit?

Yes. BisectHosting has been operating for over a decade, the domain was registered in 2014, and it publishes a full Terms of Service and SLA. The footer legal entity is Venture Node LLC and disputes fall under Ohio courts, so it is a real, established host.

How much does BisectHosting cost?

BisectHosting costs $2.99 per GB of RAM per month on monthly billing. Minecraft starts at $5.99 a month, a 4GB plan is $11.99, a 6GB plan is $17.99 and an 8GB plan is $23.99. Quarterly billing is 10% off, semi-annual 15% off and annual 20% off.

How much is a 4GB Minecraft server on BisectHosting?

A 4GB BisectOne plan is $11.99 a month on monthly billing, recommended for about 6 players. Paying annually drops the rate to $2.40 per GB, which is about $9.60 a month for the same 4GB.

How many games does BisectHosting support?

BisectOne supports more than 110 games on one plan, and you can swap games for free. Bigger plans unlock more games: a 4GB plan supports 72 other games, while an 8GB plan supports 104.

What is the best BisectHosting plan for modded Minecraft?

The 8GB plan, labelled Top Modded Plan, is $23.99 a month and is recommended for about 16 players. A 6GB plan at $17.99 is also marked as great for modded servers, and heavy modpacks may need more RAM.

Does BisectHosting have a free trial?

No. There is no free trial on the official pages. The closest thing is the 3-day money-back window for new customers, which you can use to test performance.

What is the BisectHosting refund policy?

New customers can request a full refund within 3 days of activation. Refunds are never prorated, and later refunds are discretionary. For renewals, you can get a full refund within 1 day, 50% within 3 days, and nothing after that.

Does BisectHosting offer DDoS protection?

Yes, DDoS protection is included, but the SLA describes it as best-effort at all locations. Attacks beyond mitigation capacity are excluded from downtime calculations.

What is the BisectHosting uptime guarantee?

The SLA promises 99.97% monthly uptime measured at the node level. Qualifying downtime earns one extra day of service per hour, capped at 30 days per incident, and you must claim within 5 days of the incident ending.

How many locations does BisectHosting have?

BisectHosting advertises 21 locations and says you can switch location for free. Confirm the exact cities in the configurator before ordering.

Can I host modpacks on BisectHosting?

Yes. The official page lists over 2,300 modpacks and 8,000+ plugins with automated one-click installs, plus manual installs. Check which launcher your modpack uses in the panel.

Is BisectHosting good for Minecraft?

Yes, especially for modded servers, thanks to the modpack installers, the Starbase panel and fast hardware. It costs more per GB than the cheapest hosts, so budget-focused owners may prefer a cheaper option.

Is there a BisectHosting promo code?

The official pages show only billing-cycle discounts of 10%, 15% and 20%. I did not find an official coupon code, so the best saving is choosing a longer billing cycle.

Final verdict: is BisectHosting worth it?

BisectHosting earns a 4.4 out of 5. It is a mature, flexible host with a standout multi-game plan, a polished panel and a transparent SLA. The things holding it back are policy and price, not technology: a 3-day refund window, best-effort backups and a higher per-GB cost than budget rivals.

If you run modded Minecraft or hop between games, BisectHosting is easy to recommend. If you only host one game and want the lowest price, compare the cheaper options first. Either way, use the 3-day refund window to test it properly during your busiest hours.
